WELCOME TO
The excavations at Cetamura del Chianti
Excavations and research began in 1973 and continue to the present, under the supervision of International Programs of Florida State University. This website provides the latest accounts of the exciting discoveries of buildings, artifacts and landscapes of three major cultures in Italy: Etruscan, Roman and Medieval.
ABOUT THE VIRTUAL
Museum
Numerous exhibitions of the finds from Cetamura have been given in brick and mortar settings (museums, a library, a monastery) in Italy and the U.S.A. The online Virtual Museum for Cetamura provides a record of those exhibitions and offers space for new online virtual displays, conferences and site talks based on the previous museology and on new discoveries and interpretations.
