Through the generous support of the family of Kenneth J. Reckford and Charlotte Orth Reckford scholarships are available to the FSU International Program, Archaeology in Tuscany, featuring excavations at Cetamura del Chianti.
Charlotte Orth Reckford Docentship, Archaeology in Tuscany – 2025
Participants in the Florida State University International Program, Archaeology in Tuscany, are eligible to apply for a docentship covering half of their program fee, in connection with which they will train in giving tours of the site of Cetamura del Chianti and its home museum, the Museum at the Origins of Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti. Students will get a full excavation experience and will have opportunities to tell visitors about the trenches under excavation. Docents may also be called upon to make presentations for their peers in the excavation crew, when visiting other sites and museums.

Interested students should fill out the Application Form indicating in an essay why they would like to have this experience and how they feel they are qualified for the assignment of docent.
Docentship applicants must also submit an application to the Cetamura Program through International Programs. There is a non-refundable application fee of $100.
Students offered the docentship are expected to pay their share of the program fee in order to receive the benefit of the docentship.
